Life is calling.  How far will you go?

Organization Description

The Peace Corps is an internationally renowned organization founded by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 to promote world peace and friendship and to provide education and technical training to citizens of other countries that have requested such assistance.

Today’s Peace Corps is more vital than ever, stepping into new countries and working in emerging and essential areas such as HIV/AIDS prevention, information technology and business development.  Peace Corps volunteers help countless individuals who want to build a better life for themselves, their children and their communities.

Since the organization's inception 46 years ago, more than 187,000 volunteers have served in 138 countries around the world.  Of these, 559 have graduated from the University of Utah.  There are currently 55 University of Utah alumni making a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities throughout the world as Peace Corps Volunteers.
