May I talk to a counselor?
Yes, in fact you already have an assigned counselor. If you click on the menu item Find Your Counselor, you will be able to see the contact information. Counselors can usually see you within a few days -- and we always have a walk-in counselor available for quick questions during all office hours. We can help you with resume review, interview techniques, job-search strategies, and more!Where are you located? Is there a fee?
We are located in 350 Student Services Building. Our services are free to University of Utah students and recent U of U graduates.How do I register with Career Services?
Registration is easy and only takes a couple of minutes. Use the Sign up for Services link from the menu and complete the required fields. Registration is not just for seniors, but is beneficial for all University of Utah students. Your registration will allow you to access the protected job postings and resources in the UCareerLink system.What is UCareerLink?
Career Services uses a database system called UCareerLink which helps students and employers to find each other. It also lets Career Services communicate with you about events such as career fairs, job postings, and interview schedules. This is where you can upload your resume and cover letters for employers to view. It is also where you access additional electronic tools and resources behind that login. You must register with Career Services to access the degree-required jobs for graduating seniors in the UCareerLink system. Off-campus job postings for students are accessible by simply choosing Jobs from the menu items and then Student Jobs & Internships.I’m undecided on a major or career … can you help?
Notice the menu item Choose a Career. This is where you will find our self-assessment tools to help you discover your strongest areas of interest and how they relate to careers and majors. Of course, we want to assist you in these important decisions and can help you begin this process.
