ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS

Some recruiters work with Career Services to coordinate on-campus interviews. Most are conducted from September through April, but may occur at any time of the year. IMPORTANT:  Failure to comply with the Cancellation Policy could result in the loss of on-campus interviewing privileges. Also carefully read the  Interview Ethics and Standards of Behavior.

Scheduling an On-Campus Interview

Company profiles and job vacancies are posted on-line at UCareerLink. Jobs which have on-campus interviews scheduled, have titles prefaced by the word "INTERVIEWS" in all caps. An example would be, INTERVIEWS - Mechanical Engineer.

There are two kinds of interview schedules:

  • Pre-select: Employers select candidates before the interviewing date. The employer determines who will be interviewed from the application material submitted on-line in UCareerLink.
  1. Open sign-up: Employers leave the schedule open to those who meet their application requirements, on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can schedule an interview as soon as their application material has been submitted on-line.

Information Sessions

Many employers hold information sessions in connection with their visits. Students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend employer information sessions, especially those students who have an interview scheduled with the prospective employer. The dress for most sessions is business casual. Date, times and locations are posted online at UCareerLink.

Accepting Employment

Please notify Career Services when you receive an offer, and when you accept employment. This information is used for Career Services statistics. We are very interested in your success!

Cancellation Policy for On-Campus Interviewing

If it is necessary to cancel an on-campus interview, it must be done at least 12 hours prior to the schedule time. Interview appointments cannot be cancelled after that time, except in extreme emergencies. A cancellation made after that time will be considered a "No-Show" and "No-Shows" are not acceptable. Two "No-Shows" within one academic year will result in the loss of on-campus interviewing privileges. Letters of apology and explanation must be sent to recruiters when appointments are missed or commitments are broken.
