FINDING POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS
Often it is a good career strategy to generate a list of potential employers, visit their website, and send a resume directly to them instead of waiting for a job to be posted. Set up a spreadsheet using the following resources and strategies:

- Career Fairs (see employers who attend our fall and spring career fairs)
- Who Hires Our Grads? (employers who have recently hired U of U graduates)

Utah Employers
- University of Utah Marriott Library - research tools may be used on a campus computer or by proxy from home.
- Utah FirmFind - Utah Department of Workforce Services lists 70,000 firms doing business in Utah by occupation, industry, firm name or size.
- Utah Business magazine - Utah Business Rankings: The 2007 Statewide Book of Lists, a current compilation by industry of names, phone numbers, and vital statistics about Utah employers (NOTE: a hardcopy of the 2007 book of lists is available in our Career Services Library.)
- Utah Top Public Companies by 2002 Revenue - as reported in Utah Business magazine.
- Utah Top Private Companies by Total Employees - as reported in Utah Business magazine.
- Silicon Slopes - A new online networking hub promoting Utah and its technology companies.
National Employers
