CAREER FAIR FOLLOW-UP TIPS
Now that you've made contact with several organizations that hire people with your skills and interests, now it's time to make the most out of your Career Fair experience.
- Reflect on all the employers you visited at the Fair. (Career Services provides a list of all attendees for each career fair they host.) Select those employers which you think are the most interesting. Think about each of their profiles and needs. Ask yourself if your interests, background, and experience might be a match for the employer.
- Use the business cards from recruiters to call or write follow-up emails requesting more interaction or a personal interview. If you are not sure of the contact information, visit our website or talk to your Career Services counselor.
- Check our website to see which companies have on-campus interview schedules following the fair.
- Keep notes on the interactions you have with the companies. Remember, in most cases job offers come because of repeated interactions and personalized information you gather during the recruitment process.
- Remember to write thank you notes to those employers who took the time to visit with you following your contact request, even those that you have determined you are not currently pursuing. You never know what the future holds.
